Types of Wood
Each Diorama or Vignette I create gets a wood base. Exotic hardwoods have characteristic as unique as their names. Zebrawood tends to splinter; Padauk creates a choking dust; Purple Heart is dense and brittle; and Cocobolo and Cypress don't take lacquer finish very well; my favorite is my diminishing supply of Spalted Cherry that I received from my Father-in-Law, Bruce years ago.
